Dear Volunteer,
On behalf of the Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE) organizing committee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and express my gratitude for your willingness to assist us in making SCALE a huge success. As a volunteer, you play a vital role in ensuring that attendees have a positive and productive experience.
To ensure that SCALE runs smoothly and that we all meet our objectives, it is important that we establish a few standards and expectations for all volunteers.
Professionalism: Volunteers are expected to display a high level of professionalism at all times, including appropriate attire and behavior, promptness, and respectful communication with attendees, staff, and other volunteers.
Responsiveness: Volunteers should be responsive to the needs of attendees and staff, always striving to provide excellent customer service.
Attention to detail: Volunteers should pay attention to detail and follow procedures accurately, especially when handling sensitive information or materials.
Positive Attitude: A positive and upbeat attitude is essential to creating a welcoming atmosphere at SCALE. Volunteers should be approachable and friendly, and they should be proactive in seeking out opportunities to help attendees and staff.
Flexibility: SCALE is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and volunteers should be flexible and adaptable in order to respond to changing circumstances and unexpected needs.
Confidentiality: All volunteers should maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information they may encounter while performing their duties.
Teamwork: Volunteers should work well as part of a team and be willing to assist others as needed.
Please note that these standards and expectations are not exhaustive and may be adjusted as needed. Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is greatly appreciated and will contribute greatly to the success of SCALE.
Thank you again for your dedication to SCALE and for your willingness to help make this event a memorable experience for all attendees.
Best regards,
Phillip Banks
SCALE Conference Chairperson
